Under the Voluntary Jury Act, certain people, including anyone who holds public employment, must register themselves. Signing up here is how you do that.

You aren't required to register. People who work for a city fire or police department are exempt from mandatory registration under the Voluntary Jury Act. You're still welcome to sign up on your own. If you do, the same rules apply to you as to any other juror.

What to do next

Keep your Discord direct messages open. That's where summonses are sent.
If you are summoned, you have 14 days from the day you receive it to acknowledge it in the juror portal.
If you can't appear on the court date, request to be excused in the portal. That counts as a response, so it also acknowledges your summons. The court may excuse you for good cause.
